Leonards Fork Baptist Church has the opportunity to make a lasting impact on families throughout Appalachia by participating in the Appalachian Christmas Outreach Backpack Ministry, sponsored by the South Fork Baptist Association Baptist Women. This ministry provides backpacks filled with essential items, a Bible, and the hope of the Gospel to children and families during the Christmas season.

This outreach is a wonderful way for our church to live out our mission of making an impact on our community. While the backpacks will bless families across Appalachia, they also unite our church family in serving Christ together through generosity, compassion, and the love of our neighbors. Every backpack is a tangible expression of God's love and an opportunity to share the hope found in Jesus Christ.

There are several ways to get involved:

  • Pick up and fill a backpack with needed items.
  • Give a monetary donation to help purchase supplies.
  • Volunteer to help prepare backpacks for distribution.
  • Pray for the children and families who will receive these gifts.

Please note that all completed backpacks must be returned by Sunday, October 26, 2026. This deadline is essential to ensure the backpacks can be distributed in time for Christmas. If you plan to participate, don't wait—pick up your backpack and begin filling it as soon as possible.
